Blast of baking from the past #1...

I decided that my next few blog posts will be goods that have baked in the past that I have taken photos of. So in saying that....


My first will be these cupcakes....

These are vanilla cupcakes with white chocolate ganache with ready to roll icing (I think Orchid is the brand - it comes in a pink box), I added Winton Teal icing gel to get the colour. I didn't mean for them to look like a Tiffany's & Co box, they just turned out that way. Thanks to my brother for doing the bows...I couldn't do them!

If I remember correctly, I got the vanilla cupcake recipe from the Planet Cake book (recipe if requested). These turned out really well, they were gobbled up pretty quickly! They were rich with the actual cupcake, ganache and icing. And they took me awhile to do them, over the weekend, but they were worth it.

First blog...

In honour of where I got my blog name from, the movie 10 Things I Hate About You, I thought I would write a list of 10 things that I love about baking like Julia Stiles did in th movie.

1. I love the creativity of baking, you can create so many different things with some simple ingredients.

2. It can take me away from the real world. When I'm stressed, I bake. Though I like to bake at any time.

3. It's something I'm good at.

4. Oh, the flavour. I love creating different things.

5. I can take something simple, and put it into great-ness.

6. Cook books. My mum's love of cookbooks has moved onto another generation.

7. I like the process, and of course the result.

8. You can create GOOD food.

9. The smell.

10. The challenge.

Done. There is my list. 10 things I love about baking.
